They have the mid-tempo HC grooves that get people bouncing, they got the thick guitar riffage, the thundering NYHC drum rolls and breaks and - of course- Hoya's deep sounding bass thuggery.
The riffs are really well-written and give way for huge breakdowns and tempo exchanges. I don't suffer from anxiety disorder, but I most definitely have felt the feeling and still do from time to time, to be honest.
Kill this fucking beast! For people who have been judged because of their appearance, skin color, gender No one likes being judged. No one likes being profiled or belittled. It's an ugly, ignorant "habit" that our species has really mastered. Be who you are without shame! This was one of the first songs that really demonstrated how we were "coming into our own. I hadn't quite grasped the whole songwriting thing at that point.
I had ideas, etc. Roger wrote the lyrics for a lot of the songs on that release. He had books of old lyrics, and we just utilized them. It sounds as though the veterans of hardcore just wanted to record an album, so they slapped some songs together and called it a day. Everything has a sense of familiarity, as though it's been done before. Variation is found at some points, such as the lead lines towards the end of All Or Nothing, or the guest vocals in the second half of Shatterproof or even the fact that Con Fuerza is sung in Spanish.
But even so, there are enough gang chants, 2-step and half time sections that work against this. The album doesn't come off as angry, it comes off as boring. Sixteen songs in thirty five minutes may sound great on paper, but it makes for a truly daunting listen. Users Also Bought. For The Cause Cassette Madball. Hardcore Lives LP Madball. Nov 22, · Empire is an album that sounds pretty logical, considering the discography of Madball. The sound is a little heavier and thicker compared to former albums, which will be very clear as soon as the needle is dropped on this blood red circle and Invigorate sets in. It's aggressive, solid and pure Madball/5(16).
