Two Remarks - Hold On Tight (CD)

There, Figlesthaler enjoyed the greatest lift. Askar, after weeks of scrutiny on his background , was the only candidate with an underwater rating. With the top candidates so tightly clustered, where does each enjoy the greatest strength? Askar leads among voters under the age of 50, followed by Eagle.

But among the ageand-up demographic, a critical group in Southwest Florida, Figlesthaler enjoys the advantage. Time followed the albums Discovery , on which ELO had dispensed with their three-man string section although orchestration was used on the album , and Xanadu , the soundtrack to the musical film of the same name , which was met with a mixed reception.

These songs were instead issued as B-sides of later singles. Lynne's comments on the album's concept are as follows: in , a man drifts into a state of twilight " Twilight " , where he appears to have entered the year , meets a Gynoid "Yours Truly, " , and reflects on the s, "back when things were so uncomplicated" " Ticket to the Moon ".

Walking down the same street from a hundred years before, he is dismayed by the plastic flowers and ivory towers which have grown on top of it " The Way Life's Meant to Be ". As he remains in this future period, he looks out his window depressed, watching the world go by " Rain Is Falling ". He attempts to send a letter in the form of a dream to his girlfriend in the past, but fails "From the End of the World".

When asked whether the man's experiences had been a dream all along, Lynne responded: "This is what I'd like to know, because it's baffled me since I wrote it, if he has actually gone [to the future], or if he's just thinking about it. It could be real, or it could be a dream I'm not sure.

I'd rather not say, because I don't know either. I'm supposed to, but I don't. Although there is hardly any plot to thread the various songs together, the theme remains largely intact Afterwards, he hopes that he may be able to return home with a time machine , "but with all their great inventions and all their good intentions, here I stay" "Rain Is Falling". Following his final attempt to return to the past, the protagonist is invited to "hold on" " Hold On Tight ".

Author Adam Roberts calls Time a "future-set rock opera ". Time reached number 1 in the UK Albums Chart , maintaining the position for two weeks.

You'll find great sweeps of melody and plenty of high and low and loud and soft sounds for your expensive hi-fi equipment to chew on. About a month ago I received payment for a DJ gig I'd forgotten about and decided to order it as a nice room-clearing record for gigs.

Finally came in yesterday and I've listened to it probably 6 times. The production is straight up karaoke-quality. I'm not sure whose idea it was to put this out because Furlong is in no way shape or form anything resembling a passable singer and there is virtually no attempt to make him sound like one.

Highlights include the cut "When the Sun Goes Down", a total early 90's power ballad that best shows off the singers complete lack of pipes. Flat and nasal delivery is offset by chimey FM piano and shredding guitar licks. The real payoff are the 2 closing numbers, a cover of the Doors "People Are Strange" that has to be heard to be believed and, inexplicably, an original Christmas number that perfectly puts to bed this wretched masterpiece.

The package is completed by the rousing cover art and an insert of Furlong laying in various poses in what appears to be a Josten's school portrait backdrop, along with Korean liner notes that I cannot decipher and an English lyrics sheet on the back full of typos.

I'm sure. The vocals are usually buried so deep in the mix it's hard to tell and when they are audible enough the most apparent thing is how out of tune he is and how fucking nasally his voice is. This was a worthwhile investment, I would love to be in a situation where this was played after a show. I guess that would work, assuming she can do that since we never see her root only one foot as far as I can remember.

Lol I thought of this exact meme this morning but didnt do anything about it. Yours looks better than mine would have though. Epic/Legacy's release All Over the World: The Very Best of Electric Light Orchestra is the latest installment in the seemingly endless series of ELO comps. Since it follows 's handy single-disc The Essential Electric Light Orchestra by merely two years, it's easy to wonder what distinguishes this from the other ELO collections on the market, and whether it was necessary to release.

It snaps and they begin to fall, but he grabs two protruding twigs and uses them to steer the branch through the air with grace and finesse. "That's amazing!!" says the second caterpillar. "How in the hell are you doing that?!" The first caterpillar scoffs.

Oddly enough the hit from this one, "Hold on Tight", sounds almost like it was tagged on as a afterthought. It doesn't seem to fit the theme or style of the rest of the material. Perhaps the label felt ELO needed to add a radio-friendly ditty to sell the album/5.
